Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake

Another of my homemade experiments was this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake for my son's second birthday. I decided that I had to start a couple days before so that I wouldn't be going crazy right before his birthday party!
So I found a great fondant recipe and started my experiment from scratch.
(Here is a recipe that is similar to the one I used- http://www.wilton.com/recipe/Rolled-Marshmallow-Fondant) It was a very sticky process but the end result was fantastic!
The fondant was actually really tasty and with food coloring I was able to add the coating necessary to make the Clubhouse look like it is supposed to.

My first trial at a real birthday cake was a success!
Don't be afraid to try making your own fondant, it is so fun and really adds a lot to your cake masterpiece! :)
